Obituary of George Alexander Martell

Martell, George Alexander - 87, Petit de Grat It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Alexander Martell of Petit De Grat which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on Wednesday, April 29th after a courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Rockdale, he was the son of the late George and Artimise (Landry) Martell. George was a former employee of Booth and Richmond Fisheries where he was employed as a Mechanical Engineer. He was jack of all trades and took great pleasure in doing odd jobs for his family and friends. George was a honorary member of the Isle Madame New Horizon's Seniors Club, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 150, both in Arichat. He is survived by his loving wife Ethel Mary (Boudreau) Martell; children Paul (Linda) Boudreauville; Shirley Martell, Arichat; Alfred Boudreau (Thérèse), Boudreauville; Wayne Boudreau (Thérèse), Evanston; Nora Landry (Thomas), Arichat; Howard Boudreau, D'Escousse ; Karen Roach (Robert), Port Hastings; Andrea Landry (Albert), Boudreauville; grandchildren Wesley, Kimberley, Courtney, Steve, Amy, Kyle, Ryan, Nathan, Matthew, Nathasha, Victoria, Dawson and Kendra; great-grandchildren Mattie, Chase, Nevaeh, Khalley, Alex, Jack, Isaac, Olivia, Avah, Bailey, Jaxson, Austin, Jayce and Grace; brothers Freddie (Delta), Little Anse, Clarence (Helen), Rockdale; sisters Bertha Orchard (Ken), and Eva Horton, both of Halifax, Beatrice Beaulieu, Rockdale , Anna Doupe, St. Peter's;. He was predeceased by the mother who raised him. Madge (Landry) Martell; first wife Alvina Boudreau; sisters Tim and Bernice. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Sunday from 2 - 9pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 2pm in St. Joseph's Church, Petit De Grat with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit De Grat. Reception to follow Mass in the Isle Madame New Horizon's Seniors Club in Arichat.
