Dear Treena and Rob, Adrian and Natasha, MacKenzie and Vi: We have such fond memories of yearly New Year's gatherings at our place. Even though we would see each other rarely during the year, the expectation was that it was a pre-New Year's gathering no matter what. We always looked forward to catching up with what was going on in each other's lives. Merlin was truly a life-loving, life-giving gentleman. In every sense, his main focus was pleasing others before himself. The measure of a man is not in terms of how he lived, but who he lived for and what was important in life's journey. Merlin will most certainly leave an indelible mark to all. A huge presence will be missed in our community. He was so proud of his family, his faith and his community. We valued our once a year friendship...and picked up where we left off the previous year. We will cherish the memories!

I would like to send my deepest condolences to your family. Even though I didn't know Merlin for a long time, the person I did meet via Viola, was a beautiful and friendly gentleman. The few times we did meet he always treated myself and the friends of Vi's with dignity and always laughing or joking. I can only imagine the loss and emptiness that will be in all your lives.
