Obituary of Geraldine Margaret Latimer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geraldine (King) Latimer of Arichat on Saturday December 12, 2015 at Northwood Manor, Halifax.
She was the daughter of the late Edward King and Laura (Embree) King, and was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Arthur (Artie) Latimer.
She is survived by her daughters Darlene (Roderick/ 'Buddy') MacLean and Charlene (Ralston/'Sonny') MacDonnell. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Rachel (MacLean) Hamilton, Adrienne (MacLean) Umlah (Aaron), Vanessa MacDonnell (Leo Russomanno) and Jasmine MacDonnell (Lee Odlin). She deeply loved her great-granddaughters, Jordanne and Camryn Hamilton, Heidie Umlah, and Frida MacDonnell Russomanno.
She is also survived by her siblings Walter King (Florence) and Jimmy King (Helen). She was predeceased by brothers Carl, Cecil, Eddie, Earl, Albert, and Leo, and sister Catherine (Kaye).
Geraldine worked for many years at the Isle Madame District High School cafeteria. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish and a long-time member of the Catholic Women's League. She will be forever remembered for her jams, jellies, pickles, homemade breads, pies, and squares. She was most content in her kitchen, and when sharing her goodies with her many friends and family.
Visitation will be held at C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Tuesday December 15 from 6-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Arichat at 11 a.m. on Wednesday December 16 with Fr. Antolin Azor officiating. Burial will take place in St. John's Anglican Cemetery. Following the committal, a reception will be held in the Our Lady of Assumption Church Hall.
