Dear Mary and Family: Please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of Rick, "A true Guardsman". He will be greatly missed by all Regimental members and all others who knew him. We take comfort in knowing that he will "fall-in" on "Parade" on that great day when we rejoin. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
I was very saddened to hear of Ricks passing, I am thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
It is always sad to say goodbye to family. Whether we spent much time together or a few 'quality time' events over the years makes no difference. Uncle Rick (or Uncle Ulysses) was always caring and full of life. He was unassuming and his dedication to his family was unwavering. A character of many raised on Isle Madame and the small community of Janvrin's Island. I am sure his character was witnessed by many over his years serving abroad in military service and in his working career. May all memories of a life well lived continue to be shared by those who are left behind to carry on. Lorelei (Fougere) Nicoll

Dear Mary and family. We are very sad for your loss. Rick was one of a kind! Prayers and love to you and yours.
Received the sad news from Robie of Rick"s passing. We wish we could have been at the reunion this year, but due to unforseen circumstances we could not. Rick was a true Guardsman and gave his all to the Association with you at his side leading all the efforts. We are thinking of you and family at this difficult time and our hearts go out to you. God Bless
To Mary and family. As I vacation here in AZ,I was shocked and saddened to say the least when I learned of Rick's passing. AS you know I always thought of Rick as a special friend and the ultimate Guardsman. You both have done so much for our Assoc over the years and for thought we are so grateful. And for that and so many other reasons he will be sorely missed. I wish I could have called you but unfortunately I could not from here. However, please know that my heart and prayers are with you a you go through this most difficult period.

To Mary and the family-Joann, Marie & families & friends: My condolences to you all. When death reaches our door its always hard to accept or deal with, however, our faith teaches us that this is not the end but the beginning of a new life for our loved ones who leave us. Rick will no longer have to suffer and I am certain that he has left you people with many wonderful memories that will help you cope with your pain. There are many questions for those who are left behind, unfortunately there are no answers. There again, we have to believe that the promise that God made to prepare for each of us a Special place in heaven is true. Rick will watch over all of you from his special place. God Bless you all.
