MACINNIS, John Hector, 81 - Grand Anse. It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, papa, uncle, and great friend, who left us peacefully on January 24, 2016 at St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish with his loving family by his side. Born in Balmoral, he was the son of the late Frank and Barbara (Burns) MacInnis. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47, St. Peter's and volunteered at the MacKay cemetery, St. George's Channel. He worked as a labourer at the heavy water plant, Point Tupper, for many years and worked construction for several years to follow. He will be sadly missed by daughters, Shirley MacInnis (Dave Blanchard), Arichat, Deborah Carter (Pernell), Grand Anse, Helena MacInnis, Lower River Inhabitants; sons, Gordon (Claire Edwards), Pondville, Paul, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Heidi, Courtney, Jodi, Chelsie, Kayla, Candice, Ashton, Ashleigh, Johnathan, Claudia, Ryan, Rebecca and Deanna; great grandchildren, Cohen, Isla, Jackson, Kavailya and Harrison. John will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews with a special mention to Jack MacRae (the old jack) and Donald MacRae (Doo-Doo) who were more like sons to him. John is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Daisy Mae (Campbell); sons, Stephen and Billy and two sons during infancy; brother Donald; sisters, Flora MacRae and Margaret MacRae. Visitation will be held January 28, 2016 at the River Bourgeois Funeral Home from 2-4pm & 6-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on January 29, 2016 at the Black River United Church at 1:00pm with Minister Donna Lovelace officiating. Private family Burial will follow at the MacKay Cemetery in St. George's Channel. Memorial donations can be made to the MacKay Cemetery Fund, St. Martha's ICU or to the charity of one's choice.
