SAMSON, Mary Flora "Florie" �" 98, St Peter's, formerly of Samson's Cove, passed peacefully at her residence at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter's on October 29, 2008, with her loving family by her side. Born in Samson's Cove, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Clara (Boudreau) Samson. Florie was very active in her parish. She was a founding member of St. Joseph's Catholic Women's Leaque and received her 50th year pin in December of 2003, from which she was still a member. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves to mourn in her passing, her children, William, Louisdale, Amelia Boudreau (Bertman deceased), Little Anse, Hyacinth (Mabel), Toronto, Delores (Johnny) Louisdale, Thérèse Benoit, (René deceased) Petit De Grat, René (Pat), L'Ardoise, Claire (Wilfred), Louisdale, Joseph (Anna), West Arichat,, Edwin (Marie), Dartmouth, Betty (Cetus) Petit De Grat, Alfred (Connie), Boston; son-in-law Adolph Babin, West Arichat; sister-in-law Margaret Samson, Port Hawkesbury; Loving grandmother to 30 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great Grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews. Florie was the devoted and beloved wife to the late Francis Samson; she was also predeceased by her children, Delores, George and Linda in infancy and much loved daughter Lucille Babin of West Arichat, who died in 1968 at the age of 32; sisters Margaret (Felix), Blanche (Narcisse), brothers, Emile (Elizabeth), and William (Elizabeth).
Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat today from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Church in Petit De Grat today at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial will follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit De Grat. In Lieu of flowers the family request that Memorial donations can be made to the St. Joseph's Parish Development Fund, Petit De Grat, or to the Richmond Villa Activity Department.
