Obituary of Velma Joseph Babin

BABIN, Velma Joseph, 75, passed away suddenly on November 29, 2008 at his home in West Arichat. Born in West Arichat, he was the son of the late Francis and Melinda (Poirier) Babin. He owned and operated Babin's Texaco in West Arichat for 16 years, and was a fisherman up until his retirement. He will be sadly missed by his sons Blair (Sharon) West Arichat, Clarence (Joan) Bedford, daughter Joan David (Blair) Bedford; grandchildren, Rocky, Tyler, Julian, Jake, Matthew, Justin and Andrew; great grandchildren Ashton and Ayden. Sister, Genevieve Marchand, Louisdale; brothers, Harold (Anna), Howard (Marina) both of West Arichat, He was predeceased by his wife Gloria Virginia (Landry). No visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in West Arichat, with Rev Angus MacDougall officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. A reception will follow at the Acadiaville Hall, West Arichat. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the charity of ones choice.
