Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
BOUDREAU, Elizabeth Ann "Betty Ann", 73 It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Elizabeth Ann 'Betty Ann' (Touesnard) Boudreau, 73, Petit de Grat. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Stone) and Joseph Peter Touesnard of River Bourgeois, Cape Breton. Born July 8th, 1943 Betty Ann grew up in a very large family of 13 siblings. She married Wilfred Boudreau, the love of her life on June 24th, 1967 but their love story was short lived when he passed away suddenly in 1979 at the young age of 36. Betty Ann has always been a picture of grace, poise and beauty despite having faced many hardships in her life. A young widow at age 36, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis shortly thereafter but faced both of those challenges with the courage of a warrior. Sadly, a short lived cancer diagnosis proved to be a battle she just could not win. She raised her three boys with the strength and character of a protective mom, and she supported and loved Daren, Brian and Leslie with every fiber of her being. Strangers marveled at her steadfast faith and perseverance, with never a word of complaint. Betty Ann always saw the positive in people, and she remained humble and kind to her dying day. She looked forward to family bingo nights at the Villa, hugs from the grandchildren and she enjoyed outings with friends, especially when her hair looked good. Her home in Petit de Grat was always a welcome place for others, and she enjoyed the view of the harbour from her living room window. Betty Ann was a devoted community member, a special sister, a loyal friend and a loving grandma to 6 incredible grandchildren. She leaves behind a treasure of wonderful memories for all who were blessed with her kindness.Betty Ann is survived by her three sons Daren (Dana), Arichat NS; granddaughters Cortni and Christina; Brian (Melissa), Antigonish NS; grandchildren Emma and Ben; Leslie (Nissa) Petit de Grat, NS; grandchildren Shaye and Brielle.
