Obituary of Mary Edna Matthews

We, the family of the late Mary Edna Matthews 49 ,of Cleveland, are saddened to announce her death, which occurred as a result of a MVA on Monday, April 20, 2009 in Cleveland. Edna was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (MacDonald) Matthews of Grand Anse. Born in Arichat. Edna enjoyed landscaping, house painting to car repairs. There wasn't any job too big or too small that she wouldn't lend a hand too. She had the biggest heart, she would do anything for anyone. She is survived by sons, Justin Alexander MacRae, Halifax, Joseph Russell MacRae (Miranda MacDonald) at home; daughter, Jennifer Edna Lynn, (Bernie Mac Intyre) , Port Hastings; sisters, Debbie Phillips (Jimmy), Kempt Road, Clarissa Matthews (Bernard), River Bourgeois, Sheila Matthews (Wayne), Grand Anse, Audrey MacRae (Daniel), Dundee, Colleen Innes (Paul), Louisdale; brothers, Gerrard Burke (Eileen), The Points, Vincent Burke, Toronto, Ont., Jerome Burke, Terry Matthews (Sharon) both of Halifax, Dougald (Lydia), St Peter's, Tommy, Martin and Lawrence all of Grand Anse, Hubert, West Bay. Edna is also survived by many close friends. She was predeceased by a brother Donald. Visitation will be held in the River Bourgeois Community Funeral Home in River Bourgeois this evening from 7 - 9 pm and on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the Black River United Church, Black River at 11:00 am, with Minister Wayne Yorke officiating. Burial to take place in the Black River United Church Cemetery. in Black River. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations can be made to the family.
