Eda, Greg, Lisa, Dean, Nicole & Family: Having moved away many years ago, I can honestly say, that running into Vernon was always a pleasure. Always concerned about everyone and how we were all doing. A smile that was as bright as the sun and heart as big as the moon! So genuine and true to who he was. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you today and always. May you find strength to face the challenging times ahead and courage to hole your memories close to your hearts forever. May those memories make you smile as you remember the good times spent together. All our love, Amy, Adrian & Family
My thoughts and prayers are with all who are experiencing the loss of such a remarkable person in Vern. I had the privilege of spending time with Vern at CCEDP in Truro and will always have fond memories of his great sense of humour, zest for life, caring and compassionate nature. He was a wonderful educator and role model for all of us. I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunities to learn and grow with Vern. We definitely shared a love for learning, education and our fair island. His smile and caring nature will always be fondly remembered by many who he has touched. Nothing can take away the loss but know there are many thinking of you all in our thoughts and prayers. Vicki
Dear Eda & family, Very saddened by your loss. I pray that God will give you the strength and courage during your time of grief and that, in time, the void in your heart will be replaced with smiles of the many memories of laughter and happiness that you have all been blesssed to share with such a great man. A man I never saw without a smile. Draw on your faith. Blessings and prayers, Lise Coleman

Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to all the family. Although I've been away from home for a number of years, I would often see Vernon, Eda and Dean at Church or at other cummunity events. Vernon was a very kind, caring man with a great sense of humour. Dean often talked highly about his father and respected his advice and guidance. May you all find peace and comfort in the days ahead.
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Vernon. To his family you will always hold special memories of him. I had the privilege to be one of his Welding students at NSCC his first year there. It was a fun, educational and and all around wonderful experience to have been in his class. The stories he would share and give us a piece of his life's experiences in hope that we would learn from some of the mistakes he saw throughout the years. He was a good man and will be missed by many. My condolences to you his family, may he rest in peace! Tasha Matthews

Sincerest condolences from two colleagues of Vern at NSCC Strait Area Campus ... we both remember Vern as one of those individuals that make coming to a new employer welcoming and open. He showed me (personally) what it meant to be committed to the profession of teaching and the joy and fulfillment that comes in helping students succeed (without reservations or pre-conceptions on our part as teachers). He was and forever will be the definition of commitment and joy in teaching in our minds and hearts. Raj and Punky

To the family of Vernon Sampson: Yesterday was a sad day when you had to say goodbye to such a wonderful human being. Vernon was indeed very "Special"! I can recall vividly how he and his wife treated me when I took Lisa and Rodney's wedding pictures. His kindness will always stay with me. Rest assured that he is now happy in God's kingdom, there was a place prepared for him there. Although gone from our midst, he will be as close if not closer than before. Its a known fact that the ones who leave before us take good care of us. Keep up your courage and I will certainly keep you in my prayers. Marie-Louise
