Obituary of Hugh Martell

Martell Hugh �" 65, Pondville, Nova Scotia passed away on April 2nd, 2006, at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston. Born on March 11, 1941 in Pondville, he was the son of the late Venard and Alma (LeBlanc) Martell. He worked aboard vessels on the Great Lakes, in the construction industry, and retired after 14 years at Midway Motors. He had a great love for boating and music, especially Bluegrass and attended many festivals. He is survived by his wife Donna (Bowen), daughter Michelle, Halifax and son Dean (Carla), Pondville; grandchildren, Samantha and Aaron; brothers, Henry (Marjorie), Pondville; Herman, Thorburn; Harold (Dorothy), Ontario; Hector (Jovita), Truro; Alexander "Fosh" Pertus (Liz), Saugus, Mass.; sisters, Maura Boudreau (Dave), River Bourgeois; Marina Molaison, Pondville; sister-in-law, Geraldine Martell, Pondville. He was predeceased by his brother Hubert and a brother in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held this evening from 7-9pm in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday morning at 11am in St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church, D'Escousse, with Rev Bruno Ruel officiating. Burial to follow in St. Hyacinth's Parish Cemetery in D'Escousse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Society.
