This is for those who did not have the privilege of growing up within the circle of my grandmothers gentle arms, of knowing her compassion and love for her family, friends and community and for those who desire to experience everlasting faith in her Savior - Jesus Christ. My grandmother did not expect to pass through this world but once; so any good deed she could do, or any act of kindness she could show to another human being- she did not defer nor neglect it. She was thankful for eyes to see the sky and ocean, for ears to hear the birds in her trees, for feet to walk amidst her flowers, for hands to tend her garden, the way she tended the hearts of her grandchildren. Her passion was to feed people. To her, everyone needed to eat more. She fed every stray animal that ever crossed her path and had a regular gathering of seagulls she befriended with leftovers. She loved her bingo, Saturday night hockey and her Sunday drives. She never missed a baseball game on TV. She read the paper faithfully. She prayed often and loved much. She was thankful every day for the Spirit within her and gave thanks. For her, prayer was the answer to everything. You know grandmother, I didn't choose my family, you were God's gift to me and if I had a single flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk forever in a garden. God choose to connect the souls of you, my mother and me
So sorry to hear about your loss. I've known Sadie since I was a little girl. I would always see her when I went to stay with my Nanny (Emeline). I had just visited with Sadie in March when I was down with my son. She really enjoyed seeing the baby. Take care and God bless. -Andrea & Peter Halley
