Gurney, Mary Ida �" 94, Arichat, passed away, July 27, 2006, at her residence at St Anne Community & Nursing Care Centre, Arichat. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Evangeline (LeBlanc) Richard. She is sadly missed by her daughter Marie Paon (Alfred), D'Escousse; and son Joseph Ernest, Rocky Bay; sisters, Margaret David, Georgina Boucher (Peter), both of Arichat, Cecile Boudreau, Petit De Grat; brothers, Joseph, Dartmouth, Murdock, New Glasgow; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Ernest Gurney; sisters, Evangeline Martell, Madonna Doiron; brothers, Paul, Amable, Simon, Velma, Charles, Buddy and Frederick. Visitation will be held in the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and on Saturday morning from 12:30 �" 1:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Ida, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2pm in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Arichat with Rev, Duaine Devereaux officiating. Cremation to follow. Internment of ashes will take place in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery at a later date.
