Obituary of Murray Vincent Shea
Please share a memory of Murray to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sorrow and a sense of great loss that we, the family of Murray Vincent Shea, announce his peaceful death, surrounded by loving family, on October 1, 2006 at St. Martha's Hospital in Antigonish. Murray was born on August 16, 1927 in Halifax. He was the son of the late Gladys (Dockerill) Shea and Mortimer Shea. Murray served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1946 to 1974 after which he retired and settled in Louisdale, Nova Scotia with his family. He later moved to Antigonish where he worked for St. Martha's Hospital as an accounts payable clerk until his final retirement.
He had a deep love and appreciation for his family, grand children and great-grand children and would always be there when needed in good times and in bad. His 2nd greatest love was golf and then, of course, fishing, reading and, more often than not, he enjoyed an audience of patient listeners. He was a man of many of talents which was evident in his many woodworking endeavors. Although, his presence will forever be missed, his spirit will live on forever in our hearts.
Murray is survived by his loving wife, Mildred (Beazley), daughter Gail (Glenn), grandchildren Sarah, (Dan) and Andy of Ottawa, Ontario; daughter Susan (Darrell), grandchildren, Carrie, (John) Laura, Heidi and B.J. (Barbara Joan) of Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, Daughter Kathleen Shea of Stratford, Ontario; Son Rod (Sharon), grandchildren, Eric and Ian of Carleton Place, Ontario; son Bill (Belinda), grandchildren Tyler and Samantha of Louisdale, Nova Scotia; Son Pat and grandchildren, MacLean and Daniel; great-grandchildren Trisden and Riley; and Sister Kathleen (Babes) Shea and brother Joseph Shea. He is predeceased by his brothers, Patrick and Kenneth Shea. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the St. Louis Parish Church in Louisdale. Fr. Gary MacPherson officiating. Flowers welcome. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
