Obituary of Lawrence Freddie Samson

SAMSON, Lawrence Freddie - 88, Little Anse, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2006, in Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston, with his loving family by his side. Born in Little Anse, he was a son of the late Freddie Isaac and Josephine (Boudreau) Samson. He was a member of St. Joseph's Society, Petit De Grat, and the Social Action Centre in Little Anse. Lawrence was a fisherman most of his life. He will be sadly missed by daughters, Evelyn Samson (Omer), Petit De Grat; Ella Samson (Chester), D'Escousse; Mina Deveau, Little Anse; Shirley Martell (Jacques), Ethel Dorey (Paul), Denise Boudreau (Dave), all of West Arichat; Linda Boudreau (Vernie), Boudreauville; sons, Harold (Marie), Alderney Point; Mark (Brenda), Arichat; sisters, Delima Weissant, Dorothy Morrison, Bernadette Clannon, all of Little Anse; Lorraine Forster, Arichat; Betty Tandy, Halifax; brothers, George, Rudolph, both of Little Anse; 24 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary May (Martell) Samson; sister, Alma; brothers, William, Henry and Oswald. Visitation will take place at his residence, 20 Penny Lane, in Little Anse, on Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to celebrate the life of Lawrence will take place on Monday morning at 11 a.m., in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Petit De Grat, with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial will follow in Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit De Grat. No flowers by request of the family.
