Obituary of Margot Lillian Landry

Please share a memory of Margot to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LANDRY (Youden), Margot Lillian -- 63, Halifax, formerly of Poulamon and North Sydney. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother which occurred on May 17, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. Born in North Sydney to the late Howie and Frances (Martell) Youden, Margot came to live in Poulamon, Richmond County where she worked as a Public Health Nurse for 30 years. She later moved to Halifax where she became an active member of a number of social groups and charities, while working passionately in the political arena as well. She is survived by her son Paul, Halifax; daughter Lois (Mike Currie), Poulamon; husband Sonny and beloved grandson Frankie, both of Poulamon; sister Deanie (John) Morykot, Coxheath; and brother Bill (Diane), North Sydney. As a result of her ongoing commitment to health care, Margot has donated her body to science, with interment of her remains at a later date in the St. Hyacinth Parish Cemetery. Memorial service to be held on Monday afternoon at 1pm at St. Hyacinth Church in D'Escousse, with Rev. Gary MacPherson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Isle Madame Daycare Association. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank all those health care professionals, family, and friends who helped to care for our mother during this past year.
