Obituary of William Barnes

Barnes Jr., William James "Jimmy: 42 - Dartmouth, formerly of Arichat, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2009. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Captain William James and Joyce Georgina (Barnes) Barnes. Jimmy's disability didn't stop him from being an outstanding member of the Isle Madame Voluntary Fire Department up until his recent move to Dartmouth a few years ago. He spent most of his life at the fire hall manning the radios or repairing them when needed. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by brothers, Alvin (Carol), Bible Hill, Maurice (Carol), Halifax, Rex (Lorna), Arichat, David (Elizabeth) North River; sisters, Masie Cowan (Roger) Medicine Hat Alberta, Betty Lucas (Luke), Susan Cooper (Stan), Marlene Snow (Bobby) all of Dartmouth; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his nephew Clay Fisher. Visitation will take place this evening from 6-9 p.m. in the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday morning at 10 am in St. John's Anglican Church, Arichat, with Rev. Susan Best officiating. Interment to follow in the St John's Anglican Cemetery, Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to the Isle Madame Voluntary Fire Dept.
