Obituary of Mildred Victoria Ducharme

Ducharme, Mildred Victoria, 88 Arichat, passed away peacefully at her residence in St. Anne Community & Nursing Care Centre in Arichat on December 31, 2009, surrounded by her family.Born in Arichat, she was the daughter of the late James and Daisy (Wilson) Power. Mildred worked in Halifax, Nova Scotia for the Bedford Magarzine during World War II. She then became the Post Mistress at the Arichat Post Office for 25 years, up until her retirement. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Power, Arichat and former son-in-law Gerald David, Petit De Grat; sister, Mary Angeline "Gwen" Boudreau and Rudolph, Pondville; brother, Lawrence "Buddy" (Pat), St. John, NL; grandchildren, Hope (Edwin) Boudreau, Jarrod (Cassandra) David, Morgan (Carla) David; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Emily, Jaden, Bailee, James, Jocelyn, and Jensen; step great-granchildren, Amanda, (Clinton) Herritt, Travis Boudreau and son Braydan and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Marie Power, Jean LeBlanc, Doris Tapper, and half sisters, Marion Forest, Thelma Whittingham, and brothers, David Power, Edwin Power. Visitation will be held Sunday January 3, 2010 in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat from 2 - 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Mildred will be held on Monday January 4, 2010 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Arichat with Rev. Duaine Devereaux presiding. Cremation to follow. Burial in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne Community & Nursing Care Centre. Arichat.
