Obituary of Judith Ann Martel

Martel, Judith Ann, 63 Little Anse, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2010 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with her loving family by her side. Born in Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Roy Douglas and Annie Lucille (Campbell) Miller. Judy was the kindness person to so many people, being a foster parent, nurse, mother, wife, grandmother and a friend to so many people. She lived for her family as they were her pride and joy. She loved doing crafts and bird watching. Surviving are her loving husband Joseph Alphonse Martel; daughters, Krista Mano (Dan), Cornwall, Ont., Joy Martel (William), Petit De Grat, Rebecca Martel (Sylvain), Cornwall, Ont.; sons, Roy Shaun (Tina), Cornwall, Ont., John , Sydney and forster brother Walter Donovan (Kelly), London,Ont.; sister, Janice Dodge (Fred), Ottawa; brothers, Brian (Janet) Porter`s Lake, James, Dartmouth, Christopher (Carol), Hammonds Plains; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Dean Douglas, Jaden, Mason; step-grandchildren, Sarah, Meagan, Michael, Katie. Judy was predeceased by her brother Arthur. A memorial service will be held at C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Friday afternoon at 2 pm with Rev. Susan Best officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of choice.
