Obituary of Lucy May Martell

Martell, Lucy May - 84, of Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Petit De Grat passed away, on September 10, 2010 at her residence in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing, Port Hawkesbury. Born in Petit De Grat, she was the daughter of the late Simon Laman and Bertha Mae (Samson) Landry. Lucy May was a past member of the Holy Guardian Angel CWL in L'Ardoise. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Valmon (Peggy), Antigonish and John Harold (Therese), Bathurst, NB; sister, Madonna Samson, Sampson's Cove; brothers, Cyril (Lucille), Arichat and Simon (Zabine Rose), Louisdale; grandson Stephen (Jenna) and their children Evan and Andrew, New Waterford, granddaughter, Christine Barker (Sean) and their son Cameron, St Andrews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Charles Martell; son Alphonse in infancy; sisters, Christine, Elizabeth, Bernadette, Bertina and Evangeline; brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Francois, Felix, Newman and Colin. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 12, 2010 in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Farewell to celebrate the life of Lucy May will be held Monday morning at 11am in the St. Joseph`s Church, Petit De Grat. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit De Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the MacSween Unit of the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home.
