Obituary of Joseph Sandy LeBlanc

LeBlanc Joseph Sandy - 68, West Arichat, passed away suddenly March 10, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney with his loving family by his side. Born in Port Royal, he was the son of the late Gordon Joseph Bartholomew and Dorothy (Marchand) LeBlanc. Sandy overcame kidney failure in 1994 and fought many health battles over the years, including heart by-pass surgery, 7 years of renal dialysis, kidney transplant, hernia and gallbladder surgeries. Sandy was a man who enjoyed life with his family, the outdoors, hunting, spearing eels, smelting and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a brother in the Carpenters Union Local 1588. He worked construction and at Acadia, Booth's & Richmond Fisheries for many years. He is survived his daughters, Maria LeBlanc, Louisdale Paula(Derrick Hart), Janvrin's Island, Rhonda (Richard Cape), Arichat, Anna (Wayne Burton), Aulds Cove, Lisa (Bob Woodman Jr.), West Arichat, T.C. Sandrea (Fred Frost), Grand Anse; grandchildren, Sandymoon, Santana, and Deidre LeBlanc, Brett and Breanna Burton, Dalton Dorey; great-grandchildren, Byron and Aiden; his sisters, Yvonne (John Samson), Jeannine (Anthony Boudreau, both of Port Royal, Helen (Venard Samson) Alderney Point; brother, Ronald (Connie), Port Royal; his Uncle Francis LeBlanc, Port Royal; many neices, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years Lillian (LeBlanc); sisters Anna Cameron, Jean Dorey and Violet MacDonald. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7 - 9 pm in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday morning at 11 in the Immaculate Conception Church in West Arichat with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Strait Richmond Dialysis Unit. Arrangements entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat, Nova Scotia.
