Condolences
Back in University, Isaac shared the following quote with me that I still remember today - "Set your goals tough but attainable". This was good advice then and it still is now. I'll never forget this quote.
RIP my friend
Mrs. Matthews, Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I first met Isaac two years ago when I joined the Elections Canada team and I have always enjoyed my interactions with him. Isaac was always professional, loyal and polite with everyone - colleagues, clients and friends alike. We miss him dearly. A new Angel watches over you in Isaac's humble and quiet fashion as he rests in peace. Cherish your memories.
Ruth, Dilly and families, Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of Isaac's sudden passing. Isaac was such a great person with a very kind heart. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity of knowing him. May God give you all the courage and strength you need to get through this most difficult time in your lives and the days ahead. God bless each of you! Cathy and Jason Felix
So sorry to hear!! My heart goes out too all who knew him and were close to him. Issac was the type of guy who always had a smile on his face and was easy to be friends with....for these reasons, a lot of people will miss him dearly!!:)PRAYERS
To the Matthews and Burns Families: Jenni and I send our deepest condolences to you all. Over the last few days, I have recalled so many memories of my friendship Isaac and they all bring a smile to my face. And though we have not seen each other for some time, I have and will always consider Isaac the greatest of friends. May you find comfort in the presence of your loved-ones during this difficult time. We will all miss him dearly. Kyle
I would like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcomed today. I came down not knowing what to expect, and you all accepted me like I was still a part of the family. The last few days have been very difficult, not only for me, but for all of you as well. As much support as I have been getting from my family and friends, being with you today provided me with more comfort than you can imagine. I tried to make my rounds to make sure I saw everyone, and while doing so, my friend who attended the service with me got left behind. Whenever I looked back for her, she was never alone... She mentioned on the way home that she was amazed as to how friendly everyone was.... For this I thank you. To Lloyd, Sharron, Chris, Merlin and anyone else I missed.... I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to speak with you today. I’m sure it wasn’t easy having to say goodbye. I hope in time you can learn to deal with your pain and move on living your lives happy and fulfilled.... as Isaac would have wanted. To Isaac.... I hope you’ve found the peace you need to continue your new life. You will be forever in our hearts and prayers.... Love Jan
So sorry to hear about your loss. We will keep Isaac and his family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
To Joey, Ruth, and all the family, My thoughts are with you today as we lay Isaac to rest, as a brother in law, a uncle, isaac never let us down. Isaac was always the boy who loved to see his mom coming to halifax, he would say"i have my own chef for a couple of days. Ruth he thought the light shine through when you were there, Lloyd you were always someone he could count on, Chris, you were the brother that he would love to have fun with and to my husband joey, you were always there when he needed someone to talk to or needed a cook meal when we were living on ford street. Words cannot express my condolscences today, but just know he's watching over you and will be with us, no matter where we are. Loved and never forgotten, Anita and ashley (niece)

I honestly don’t know what to say. I’ve been sitting here off and on for the past two days reading the all the kind words everyone had to say and looking at all these pictures of Isaac ..... I’m so overwhelmed with sadness. A lot of these pictures are very familiar to me, reminding me of the happy times we shared. Isaac really was a very loving man. I know we grew apart, but when I think of him now, that is who I like to remember... the loving, caring and compassionate Isaac that I fell in love with. My heart goes out to the entire family at this time. I’m so sorry you all have to feel the pain of his passing, but I hope that in time your hearts will be able to heal and move on... knowing he is now at peace with Aimee watching over us all. Love and Best wishes... Jan

Dear Ruth, Emily, Lloyd and family: Isaac's passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew him. As I read the commentaries on this web site, little by little we are getting to know Isaac and the great times shared during his short life. The pictures of Isaac's early life are so sweet. We were happy to have the opportunity to get to know Isaac and to travel to Newfoundland for his wedding, for his visits and especially how he kept in touch with Nanny. These are the things that we cherish most. We pray for all of you that God will walk with you in the days ahead as you deal with yet another tragedy. We love you Isaac! Godspeed now as you join your family in eternity. Rest in the arms of the angels!
Ruth, Chris, Lloyd, Emily and extended Family, Isaac was not only special cousin, he was a great friend. I have many special memories of Isaac from our time in high school through STFX, and even in a duck blind. Conversations we had and practical jokes that he played will always stay with me. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Dean, Amanda and Emilie-Kate Marchand
Isaac and I worked together for a little over a year until he had his promotion to work in another department, we still saw each other in the halls and for special invoices that he took care of. Isaac for me always had a smile on his face and in a wonderful mood. When he went to another department it made me a little sad but I was very happy for him at the same time. My dearest Isaac I hope you find love, peace, and everything you needed that you didn't find in this life, God bless you my friend my thoughts and prayer are with you and your family and friends, I hope you considered my a friend also. In my thoughts and heart forevers and Kisses your friend Ninon :)
I remember the day that Isaac and I became friends. We had just started working together, and all that I knew about him was that he was divorced, and was a bit of a character. I ran into him in the kitchen when I got to work. He saw me putting a sandwich into the fridge and said "I bet your wife made you that sandwich". I replied, "Isaac, I don't know what kind of a marriage you had, but my wife never made a sandwich for me". Isaac thought for a minute and then replied, "let's go out for lunch, I know where we can get some good food."
That was the start of one of the best friendships that I've ever had. Isaac and I had a lot of good times together in Halifax, and I'm glad we kept in touch after he moved to Ottawa. We talked often on the phone and it felt like old times when he came home to visit. I always looked forward to hearing about his latest adventures; his unique sense of humour made his opinions and thoughts entertaining.
Isaac, I'm really going to miss you, you were a true friend. I know that the past year was extremely difficult; I'm trying to be happy for you now, because you're finally at peace. I hope there is a very happy little turtle on a beach somewhere in Mexico.
To Ruth & all of Issac's extended family I send my sincere condolences and I continue to pray that god will see you all through this most difficult time. I have known Isaac my whole life and through Chris got even closer to him through the years:) We have spent many days at Lloyd's sitting around talkin and he willl be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. I wish I could be there at this time..but my heart is with you all. May he rest in eternal peace. All my love & prayers. Angela & Tiffany xo

Ruth, Chris, and family: Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of a fantastic man. Isaac was the kind of guy who could make you laugh at the drop of a hat, and then turn around and have the best political debate... all in one breath. We had a great time catching up at our reunion a couple of years ago, and realized that he had been a roommate of my nephew Mike's in Ottawa. We had a good chuckle over that. Keep your memories of Isaac close to your heart and know that we are thinking of you.

Dear Ruth and Family. We were truly saddened to hear about Isaac. We spent so much time laughing and carrying on together. Isaac was not only my roommate at St. FX but was one of my best friends. He stopped in for a visit last year on his way through town and we did a long funny trip down memory lane. We talked about IMDH and STFX. We talked about the part he played in getting Denise and I together, touring around in the Nissan Mikra and the long hours we spent debating all things and everything. Isaac was a great friend and will be missed. To all who loved and cared for Isaac, we hope that you find peace and comfort in each other through this difficult time.
