Obituary of Anne Marie Samson

SAMSON, Marie Anne, age 67 – Arichat/Petit de Grat

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marie Anne Samson of Arichat, formerly of Petit de Grat, that occurred at her residence in Arichat on May 30, 2018. Born February 3, 1951 in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lorenzo and Valerie (Fougere) Boudreau. Marie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, enjoyed music and loved her grandchildren dearly. She is survived by her husband, Melvin John Samson, Port Hawkesbury; daughter, Tania (Cory) Marchand, Petit de Grat; grandchildren, Kayleigh Valerie Mae Marchand and Brayden Wade Marchand, both of Petit de Grat. Marie is the last surviving member of her immediate family.There will be no visitation per request. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Petit de Grat on Wednesday June 6th at 2pm with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat. A reception will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall in Petit de Grat following the committal. Memorial donations can be made to the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home where her husband Melvin is residing or to the Canadian Diabetes Association (NS). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Homecare Workers and Nurses for the excellent care given to Marie while she was in their care. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
