Dear Aitken family. I was deeply sadden when i heard of Cathy's passing . She was a wonderful person, always laughing and an open house to anyone. she will be greatly missed.
Enjoyed a great long chat with Cathy last summer where we both laughed and reminisced over 50+ year old memories. We were great friends growing up. She was always kind, good-natured and funny. Please accept my dincere sympathies.
It is with great sadness that we learned of Mrs. Sampson’s passing. The too few occasions we met her when she visited Ottawa are remembered with such fondness. Our thoughts and prayers are with Wendy and all of her family at such a difficult time.
Love from The Bursey’s
Always sweet, always sassy,
Cathy will be greatly missed.
Dear Brian and Family, I am deeply saddened to learn of Cathy's passing at such a young age. The years since we have become separated by distance have gone by too quickly. Cathy and I shared so much of our youth together in both elementary school and high school. We went back and forth on our bicycles to each other's houses, often staying for supper and sleepovers. I taught Cathy downhill skiing and she took me camping with her family. I had never slept in a tent before. My father had connections for tickets and I took her to see the Beatles at the Montreal Forum in 1964. We often double-dated in high school. I was her bridesmaid and she mine. I moved to my husband's home in Northwestern Ontario near the Manitoba border. Cathy and young family moved to Cape Breton to join her parents. My parents joined me in Northwestern Ontario. Both Cathy and I have brothers, no sisters. We thought of each other as friends and sisters. Last summer, Cathy informed me that she was too ill to travel to our Deux Montagnes 50th High School Reunion. The Friday social was held at a community center on Cedar Avenue very close to the Fougere home where Cathy grew up and I spent so much time. Cathy's neighbours and friends, Wendy and Johanne Gallagher were at the social. Cathy was greatly missed! David and I had plans to travel to Nova Scotia to visit Cathy and family but life events kept postponing our trip. Not seeing Cathy again to reminisce will be a huge regret. I am glad that she was surrounded by so much love!
To the Aitken Family - We never had the pleasure of meeting Cathy, but knowing some of the Fougere family members, we know that she was a fantastic lady and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Hugs, Rai and Lee
Dear Brian and family,
We were very saddened to hear of Cathy's passing. Our deepest condolences. Have some very fond memories of our stay at your home years ago when Julie and Jeff were young. Cathy had a welcoming warmth and laughter about her. She gave a lot of herself to everyone. Hope our prayers will help ease the loss you feel. Our thoughts are with you all.
To Brian and Family
We are deeply saddened to learn of Cathy's passing. The obituary picture of her reflects who she was, a good natured fun loving mother, wife, daughter and friend to all who had the pleasure to have known her.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, may all your treasured memories of her bring you peace and comfort.
Rest in eternal peace Cathy.
Sending our sincerest condolences to the Aitken and Fougere families. Words fall short at times like these, but we wanted you to know that we are holding you in our hearts and praying that God gives you peace and courage to face the days ahead. We hope that reminiscing with family and friends helps ease the pain a little. The Landrys and the Fougeres had some great times together (the camping trips, the parties, the music…). We will always remember Cathy’s lovely smile, that sparkle in her eyes and her kind heart…we feel blessed to have known her. With love, Marge and Rick
