Obituary of Daniel Bartholomew "Danny Boy" Sampson

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Bartholomew “Danny Boy” Sampson 78 years of Louisdale, formerly of St. Peter’s, that occurred at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on November 25, 2018. Born in Sampsonville, on Jan. 7, 1940 he was the son of the late Leo J. and Irene (Sampson) Sampson. Dan worked for many years as the Manager of Canadian Tire in Port Hastings and then at the St. John Shipyards. He and Beulah spent many years in Truro as live in home care. He loved life and enjoyed lots of time spent with his family. He was always up for a happy get together with family and friends, some great food, a good sing along, and a few cold beer. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Beulah Ann (Keating) Sampson of 55 years; daughter, Lian Parsons (Todd), Whiteside; sons, Ross Sampson (Ramonda), St. Peter’s, Aaron Sampson, Digby, Dalton Sampson, Halifax; grandchildren, Kayla Sampson, Savannah Burke, Daniel and Derrick Sampson, Bennett and Lindan Parsons; great grandchildren Kendrick and Ivy Duguid; brothers, Cyril (Kay) Halifax, Leo Amadee (Carol) Liverpool, John, Ontario; sisters, Agnes Campbell (the late Dan Campbell) St. Peter’s, Barbara Kendall (Bob) North Sydney; brother in law Morton McGrath, Louisdale. He was predeceased by brothers, Cyril (infancy), Edwin (the late Helen Sampson), St. Peter’s, Stan (Kay), Halifax, David (the late Eula), Hubbards, Oswald (Irene), Weymouth; sisters, Catherine (the late Melvin) Van Horne, North Bay, ON, Cecilia (the late Godfrey) Patterson, Gore Bay ON, Rita (the late Elias) Landry, St. Peter’s. Visitation will be held in the River Bourgeois Community Visitation Room in River Bourgeois on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 2-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter’s on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00am with Father Antolin Asor presiding. Burial to follow in St Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Peter’s. A reception will be held following the committal in the basement of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
