Obituary of Harriet Christine MacNeil

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Harriet Christine "Hattie" MacNeil, age 98 years of St. Peter’s, that occurred at her residence in the Richmond Villa on January 12, 2019. Born June 23, 1920, in Souris, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (Fougere) Bouchard. She is survived by her only son, James “Jimmy” Michael (Marquerite MacDonald), Broad Cove; grandchildren, Michael MacNeil, Russell MacNeil, Debbie Tobin, Lorraine Poirier, Denise Walker, Valerie Emin; great grandchildren Christina Tobin, Rory Poirier, Ava Poirier, Lainie Poirier, Anna and Laura Walker, Brandy, Lindon MacNeil, Jade, Luke Emin, Daniel (Melissa) MacNeil; great-great grandchildren, Delia and Norman MacNeil. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Patrick Joseph MacNeil; brothers, Raymond “Roy”, William Alexander “Billy”, James Charles “Jim”, Maurice; sisters, Adele, Violet Mildred, Rena Laka “Bessie”, Kathleen May “Pat”, and Hattie. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 16^th, 2019 at 11:00am in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter’s with Rev Antolin Asor presiding. Burial to be held June 23, 2019 in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, in St. Peter’s. A reception will be held following the mass in St. Peter’s Parish Glebe House in the basement. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to the Alzheimer’s Society (NS). Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H.
