COOKE, Francis Joseph “Cooke” - Louisdale
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Francis “Cooke” of Louisdale, that occurred February 10, 2019 in Louisdale at the age of 83 years. Born in Sydney on June 29, 1935. Cooke was brought up by his Aunt Jennie and Uncle Charlie Boudreau along with his two cousins Louis and Felix who he thought of as his brothers. He loved fishing, hunting and the outside life as a whole. He is survived by his wife Elaine (Richard) Cooke; son, Lorne Francis, Louisdale; grandchildren, Tyler, Meaghan and Jaime; step sisters Betty Nash (Billy), Halifax, Sharon Buckland (Jacques Daigneault), Oyster Pond, Jeddore, Ann Hemmings (Danny), Sydney, Shirley Maxner (Gary), Halifax; step brother Hartley Buckland, Halifax, he will also be missed by his grandchildren who brought him great joy and his special friend Clem Bates. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by step sisters Josephine Perepiczka, Lorraine Donovan, Louise Rhymes, Susan Clements; step brother John Buckley. Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale on Friday evening from 6-9pm. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday morning at 11am in St. Louis Church in Louisdale with Rev. Duncan MacIsaaac residing. Burial to be in St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Louisdale at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family. A reception will be held in St. Louis Parish Hall following the mass. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
