Obituary of Eldora "Dora" Cecile Britten

BRITTEN, Eldora “Dora” – St. Peter’s/Poulamon

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Dora Britten that occurred at her residence in the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s on July 10, 2019 at the age of 89. Born in Poulamond, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ann Bertha (MacDonald) Fougere.

Dora was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Grand Anse, Civic Improvement Centre, D’Escousse, New Horizon’s Seniors Club Arichat and St. Hyacinth C.W.L. in D’Escousse. She will be dearly missed by her sister Gemma Poirier, D’Escousse and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Dora is predeceased by her husband Ambrose Lawrence; a son in infancy; sisters Louise Fougere, Ina Bond, Emily McGrath, Alexendra MacDonald, Marciline (Pottie) Samson; brothers James and one in infancy. 

Visitation will be held Saturday morning July 20, 2019 in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Arichat from 9 am till 10:30 am.Funeral Mass will be held Saturday morning at 11 am in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat with Father Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in D'Escousse. A reception will be held following the committal at the Civic Improvement Centre in D'Escousse.
