Obituary of Ovide Samson
SAMSON, Joseph Ovide 78, of Petit de Grat passed away peacefully at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on September 14, 2019. Born in Little Anse on November 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Henry D. and Florence (LeBlanc) Samson. He loved to fish, hunt and going to card plays. You’d often see him watching the ball games. Ovide was a member of Local Unions 285 and 30 of the Sheet Metal Workers. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Muriel (Mury) Samson; daughter Shelley Samson (Robert Boucher), Angus, ONT.; grandchild, Hunter Samson-Boucher, Angus, ONT.; sister, Palmire Martell (John), Little Anse. Besides his parents, Ovide was predeceased by his infant son Troy Samson; brother Medard; sister’s Leonie, Leta and Theodora. Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Friday evening September 20 2019 from 6-9pm. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday morning, September 21, 2019 in St. Joseph’s Church, Petit de Grat at 11am, with Fr. Michel Exalant presiding. A private family burial will be held at the Acadiaville Columbarium in West Arichat. A reception will be held following the funeral mass at the St. Joseph’s Parish Hall in Petit de Grat. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
