Obituary of James "Jimmy" Nicholas Benoit
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the death of James Nicholas “Jimmy” Benoit, 92 of St. Peter’s formerly of Cape Auget that occurred at his residence at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s on October 11, 2019. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Henry Godfrey and Charlotte (DeYoung) Benoit. Jimmy was a former employee with Booth Fisheries better known now as Richmond Fisheries in Petit de Grat and was also a farmer. His last employment was with the Richmond District School Board as a janitor for many years. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Jeannette Ellis (Clarence Landry), D’Escousse; sons Vincent (Delia), Arichat, Leonard (Kim), Toronto, Douglas , Halifax, Henry (Stephanie), West Arichat, Michael (Anita), Pictou; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchild; brother Raymond, Moncton, NB; sister Mary Anne (Jim), Oklahoma USA. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Theresa; daughter Delores; sons, Bennie and Francis James; brothers, Walter, Leonard and Bernie. Visitation in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on October 14, 2019 from 5-9pm. A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held October 15, 2019 at 11am in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial to follow in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery, Arichat. A reception will be held at The New Horizon’s Seniors Club in Arichat following the committal. Memorial donations in memory of Jimmy can be made to the Richmond Villa Recreation Department.
