Please share a memory of Stephen Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MARSHALL, Stephen Gerald -Potlotek It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Gerald Marshall, age 45 of Potlotek, at his residence in Potlotek on January 6th, 2020. Born December 24th, 1974 in Sydney, he was the son of the late Stephen “Stevo” and Greta (Gloade) Marshall. Stephen was an incredibly kind and gentle man- he really enjoyed making those around him happy, even if he wasn’t always okay. Stephen’s laugh would always make those around him smile. He never pushed you to do anything that you didn’t want to, and he was very patient with everyone. He loved reading and taking notes down- for the book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, he wrote a notebook detailing it so he wouldn’t forget about anything later. He’d do the silliest things, like saying words that intentionally made you cringe to mess with you. He’d often pretend to dislike the cats, but when no one was looking he’d always spend time holding, petting, and loving them. Stephen meant a lot to a lot of people. His daughter, Josie Cremo, and his partner Francine Wincey, both meant the world to him. He loved his family and his friends, and is survived by his brothers Winston Marshall, John (Marivel) Marshall, Vernon Marshall, all of Potlotek; nieces Josie Marshall, Tori MacNeil; nephews Lyric Bernard, Winston Marshall Jr., Heartly Marshall and Justice Johnson. Visitation will take place at the St. Kateri Tekawitha Chapel in Potlotek from Monday, January 13th at 4 p.m. until Wednesday, January 15th at 9:30 a.m. Funeral mass to celebrate Stephen will be held in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter’s on Wednesday, January 15th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Yake presiding. Burial to follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barra Head. A Salite and meal will be held at the Potlotek Community Centre following the burial. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd in Arichat. To send words of comfort to the family or to light a candle in memory of Stephen, please visit www.chboudreau.com
