PETITPAS, Marie Jeanette, 92 of Port Hawkesbury formerly of Poulamon We regret to announce the passing of Marie Jeanette Petitpas, a resident of the Port Hawkesbury nursing home, and formerly of Poulamon, which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on January 29th, 2020. Born in D’Escousse on September 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Cecile (McDonald) LeBlanc. Mom was a devoted Catholic, who lived a simple life. Other than her weekly card play, bingo and listening to music, she dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She lovingly cared for her mother, husband and sister during their time of need. Jeanette is survived by her sons Earl, Halifax, Lloyd (Ann), Pondville, Kenneth (Lola), Poulamon, Eddie (Gerarda), River Bourgeois; grandchildren Nadine (Jimmy), Holly (Jason), Kevin (Vicky), Nathan (Suhashini); great granddaughter’s Keira and Amelia; step great grandchildren Robyn, Dylan, Nathan and Matthew. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Stanley; son Paul in infancy; brothers Edward (Irene), Joseph (Suzanne); sisters Ann (Herman) Fougere and Mary (Bertie) Forest. Visitation will take place in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Tuesday, February 4th from 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Wednesday, February 5th at 11am with Rev. Michel Exalant presiding. Burial will take place in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, D’Escousse at a later date. A reception to follow mass in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall, Arichat. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. Hyacinth Cemetery Fund, D’Escousse. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, Strait Richmond Hospital and Richmond County Home Support Services. Also a sincere thank you for the special care and compassion given to her by her life long friend Lillian. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
