Obituary of Edwin Joseph Landry

Please share a memory of Edwin Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Edwin on Wednesday April 15, 2020 at the Strait Richmond Hospital. Born on October 31, 1933 in Louisdale, he was the son of the late Elizabeth and Harry Landry. He is survived by his brother Cletus (Eva); daughters, Denise (Chet), and Dana (Darren); son, Kenny (Harmony); and grandchildren, Jenna, Jayden, Cole, Keegan, Hayden and Maggie. Edwin was predeceased by his wife Eleanor; brothers Melvin, Delore, and Vincent; and sisters, Eileen and Rita. Edwin was a hardworking man who pride himself in earning a good living for his family, having worked for the Landry Brothers until retirement. Once retired, Edwin spent quality time with his best friend and son Kenny going to his wood lot to explore and cut firewood and pulp. Edwin also loved to spend time with his family, getting dressed up to go to church with his wife Eleanor was something he always looked forward to. Being a true kind soul, Edwin loved being there for his daughters by always reassuring them not to worry about anything, as he would take care of it. While Edwin was known as Papa and Pépé to his grandchildren, he was also known to be the master homemade french-fry maker. Always putting others ahead of himself, Edwin never realized the positive influence he had on every life that he touched. Edwin’s heart could never be mended after his beloved wife Eleanor passed away so suddenly. He will be forever missed by his friends and family. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A private family graveside service will be held in St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Louisdale on Tuesday June 10th at 1pm with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac presiding. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Hospital Foundation or to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Limited in Arichat. To send words of comfort to the family or to light a candle in memory of Edwin, please visit www.chboudreau.com
