Obituary of Mary Almeda Boudreau

Please share a memory of Mary Almeda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts, but hearts filled with much love and gratitude, that we announce the death of our mother, grandmother (Memere), great grandmother and most recently great, great grandmother Mary Almeda (Meda) Boudreau of Louisdale at the age of 96. She died peacefully at home surrounded in the love she so much deserved. Mom was the last surviving member of her family. Born to the late Edward & Elizabeth Marchand in 1923. She grew up in Louisdale and met and married the love of her life Arthur and raised their six daughters and their grandson Arthur. She leaves to mourn by daughters Elizabeth Landry (Joe), Catherine Anne Sampson (Francis), Jean Baccardax (Don), Sharon Marchand (Wayne), Rosalie Day (Eric), Geralyn Boudreau, and grandson Arthur Boudreau (Pam). She has 13 grandchildren Brenda (Jeff), Tanya, Wayland (Angela), Warren (LoriAnn), Chris (Tania), Nadine, Nicole (Billy), Jamie (Heather), Gillian (Diego), Amanda (Jason), Erica (Scott), Micailah (Jacques). Great grandchildren, Jevan (Catherine), Adam, Brandon, Connor, Mathew, Mitchel, Cora, Andrew, Jonah(Shawna), Brett (Karter), Kasey, Conor, Riley, Michel, Makenzy, Logan, Braxton, Lexi, Daniel, Chloe, Ayden, Ayvah, Lucas, Damon and Liam. She was also blessed to finally become a great great grandmother to Briar Kelly. She is also survived by her very cherished sister-in-law Loretta Marchand who was more of a sister to her and the love they shared was very special. Also left to mourn is her dear friend, Helen Burns, sister in law Catherine Boudreau and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was a truly kind loving woman with a very deep faith in God and a love for her family that was unmeasurable. She was a proud member of the St. Louis Parish Church, St. Louis Fleur de Lis Seniors Club, involved in the Cursillo movement and a member of the St. Louis CWL for over 50 years where she worked tirelessly for God and Canada. She loved to attend CWL conferences all over the Diocese. She was the best cook, baker and bread maker and her coconut cream pie (ccp) was by far the best in the world. You never left her house without a full belly and a happy heart. She would meet strangers and welcome them home, developing long lasting friendships. She loved, beyond measure, her family and friends. And they loved her too. A Liberal at heart, a fierce card player, quick witted, and when she was right, who would argue! The family is grateful to Geralyn, who provided such wonderful primary care for mom, allowing her to stay in her home, where she wanted to be. We are also thankful for the dedication and care provided by her granddaughters, Amanda and Erica, grandson Arthur and all those who helped in any way. We will be forever grateful to the Palliative Care team of angels who provide Mom with exceptional care, comfort and so much love. We cannot begin to express our thanks to Dr. Cooper, Kayla, Leah, Adele, Jackie, Rachel and the entire team. Also, to Dr. Debbie and her staff for their attention to mom’s needs of the past couple of years. Because of the current state of emergency, we are unable to hold a funeral, but will hold a celebration of her wonderful life as soon as we can. We strongly encourage you to make a donation, in her memory, to Strait Richmond Palliative Care. In this difficult time, let us take solace in the knowledge that God has embraced her warmly for a life well lived. Look around and see the legacy of love she leaves behind. Our family and everyone she has every touched has been truly blessed. Funeral arrangements are entrusted o C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat.
