Please share a memory of Yvonne Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we, the family of Yvonne Catherine (LeJeune) Dorey, aged 64 of West Arichat, announce her sudden passing at home on March 28, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Born September 30, 1956 in Sydney, Cathie was welcomed into the household of Roddie and Mildred LeJeune as a foster child that would provide her with love and valuable life lessons. Growing up on a farm, she developed a fondness for gardening, knitting, crocheting, animals and cared for her foster parents out of love and the appreciation she had for them. It is during this time that she realized stuffing chickens in the feed bin would lead to no eggs for a little while and putting sand in a vehicle battery was not sufficient maintenance. Cathie was a passionate, creative and talented person with so much love to give, expecting very little in return. She turned her passion for fashion into a small business, providing women in the area with beautiful custom wedding, bridesmaids and prom dresses. Cathie was so proud of the work she accomplished and was overjoyed to be included in such an important and special day in other’s lives. She devoted her life to her husband, children and her only grandson every day of her life. Her smile lit up her face and her laugh was infectious. She was happiest on the water, motor boating with her family and being the First Mate to her loving Captain. Although a water lover, she dabbled in camping in luxury with her husband, realizing that the water was her sanctuary. Cathie was a country girl at heart, driving her faithful dually everywhere she went. She created a flower oasis in her garden at home, which she devoted so much of herself to. Most recently, she began snowmobiling with her husband and son and loved taking in the beautiful scenery with her loved ones and friends. For all those that knew Cathie, her strength and kindness shined through and she was always willing to talk to those she met, known or unknown. She was our compass in the stormy seas of life and will be forever grateful for her significance in our lives. Cathie is survived by her loving husband, Elias, her son Chuck (Denise), her daughter Nadine, all of West Arichat, step grandsons Devon (Savannah), Port Hawkesbury and Tyler (Corinna), Louisdale, sister-in-law Cathy (Leo), Louisdale, Angela (Raymond), L’Ardoise, and Edna, West Arichat and brother-in-law, Sonny (Nancy), Campbellton, NB, and Robert, Verdun, QC. Nephews Sylvain and Jonathan, nieces Sharon, Suzanne, Stephanie, Marie-Claire, Nikita, Kolissa, Marlena and Kendra. Last but certainly not least, she is survived by her only grandson Rylee, whom she adored so much that any request was never denied. His blue eyes captivated her heart and brought her so much joy, especially watching him turn into an amazing young man. She was predeceased by her foster parents, Roddie and Mildred LeJeune as well as her foster brother and farming partner in crime, John LeJeune, sister-in-law Pauline Boudreau. We will forever hold her in our hearts and will miss her every single day. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (NS).There will be no visitation per request.
