In mom’s earlier years she loved traveling throughout the Maritimes and Ontario; dancing (she made sure to involve the younger generations in a good square dance whenever possible to teach them the dance); playing darts; cards; and floor shuffle. Over the years she developed a love for bird and deer watching; tv bingo; knitting; a love of owls; and of course spending hours talking to friends and family on the phone. Over the years mom was involved in many organizations. She was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47 (St Peters), South Mountain Arm of Gold (St Georges Chanel) and The Bonnie Brae Seniors Club (St Peters) to name a few, as well as a past member of the St Peter’s Lions Club (St. Peters). In her working years, she worked in various fields waitressing, housekeeping, farming, and eventually she found a passion in being a Superintendent of different buildings in both Ontario as well as in Halifax, NS. Mom loved her family with her whole heart. If any of them were in need, and she was able, she would drop everything and be at their side. Although strong, independent, and opinionated, she was also kind and loving. Mom would be the first to tell you how to do things the way she wanted it done (sometimes whether you liked it or not)but was also your biggest fan when you accomplished something you were working towards. She will be deeply missed by all. Cremation has taken place. A fellowship will be held to honor mom’s life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47 in Grand Anse on August 14th, 2021 from 1-3 pm with a burial to follow at the MacRae Cemetery, Dundee. Covid Restrictions and protocols will be in place. Donations in her memory can be made to the “MacRae Cemetery Fund” and taken to the fellowship where there will be a designated drop-off.
