The passing of Viola Mary Martell of River Bourgeois, formerly of Poulamon, occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on August 31, 2021, at the age of 80 years. Born December 27, 1940, in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Anna (Boudreau) Fougere. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Touesnard (Marc), River Bourgeois; sons, Clarence Martell, and David Martell, both of Pondville; grandchildren, Scott, Jules, Justin, Mylan, Crystal, Cecil, and CJ; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Josh, Faith, Hope, Dougie, Bethany, Tahliya, Henson, Edwin, and Caysen; sisters, Melita Joshua (Gordon), Petit de Grat, Judy LeBlanc, Louisdale. She was predeceased by sons, Cecil and Darren; brothers, Joe and Kenny. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service per request. A graveside service will be held in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in D’Escousse on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 2 p.m. with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society. Social distancing, sanitizing and the wearing of masks will be enforced due to Covid-19.
