Dorothy Mae Sampson (Stewart). 89 of Lower L'ardoise (formerly from Glace Bay) It is with great sadness that we, the family of Dorothy Sampson (Dot), announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful mother, on October 3rd, 2021 at Richmond Villa in St. Peters at the age of 89. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Daniel Stewart and Helen Campelo. She is survived by her sister, Ruth MacDonald (Glenn), Gatineau; children, Cathy Sampson, Lower L'Ardoise; Danny Sampson, Bedford; Linda MacKay (Reg), Summerside; Paulette Butz (Gale), Lower Sackville; Gerry Sampson, Lower L'Ardoise; son-by-heart, Willie Martell, Lower L'Ardoise; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Alonzo Sampson; children, Roy and Lisa, in infancy; sons-in-law, Kenny Sampson and Wendell Gallant; brothers, Danny, Davie, Earl, and Kenny (Stewart); and sisters-in-law, Hilda and Tina (Stewart). Dorothy will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Mom’s house was a “home away from home” where you were always welcomed with a home cooked meal, cup of tea, and great conversation. She was known for her delicious tea biscuits and dates squares but, most of all, her generosity. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral mass per request. A burial will take place at a later date in Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery, l'Ardoise. The family would like to express a special thank you to Home Care (VON) and Richmond Villa caregivers and staff whom, through your care and kindness, became like mom's extended family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd in Arichat.
