Obituary of Irene Marie Vega

VEGA, Irene Marie, 61 of Boston It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Marie Vega that passed away on October 3rd, 2021, in Boston, Mass. Born in Sydney on April 29th, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Charlotte (Marshall) Isaac. Irene lived in Boston, where she made her family. She often came home to Potlotek every summer. She loved to play tv bingo and PEI bingo. She started creating some beadwork. When she was home in Boston, she would often spend the day video chatting with her sister Delores and many other family and friends. She was very friendly, social and loved visiting her best friend Velma in Boston who passed away in July 2021. She is survived by husband Jose A. Vega, Boston; sons Miguel (Courtney) Vega, Alberto (Jennifer) Vega, both of Boston; daughters Angie (Gabriel) Ortiz, Boston, Melissa Vega (Peter), Elizabeth Vega, both of Potlotek, Nancy Vega (Axel), Waycobah; grandchildren Mya, Jacob, Izabel, Jenna, Lillian, Valerie, Gabriella, Brianna, Noah, Isaac, Adrianna, Izabella, Katie, Peter Ezra, Antle; brothers Charles (Nonna) Isaac, Peter Isaac Sr., both of Potlotek; sister Delores Isaac, Potlotek; Godchild Dawn (Raymond) Isaac, Potlotek; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Irene was predeceased by her brothers John Ryan Isaac, Michael “Mickey” Isaac, Patrick Isaac, George Francis, Godparents Philomena, and Paul Isaac. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on November 8th at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel, Potlotek beginning at 3pm until November 10th at 1pm. Funeral Mass will take place on November 10th at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Chapel in Potlotek at 2pm with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Barra Head. A Salite to follow the burial at the Potlotek Community Hall, Potlotek. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd in Arichat.
