Obituary of Elaine Marie Sullivan

Sullivan, Elaine Marie, 78 of Louisdale passed away peacefully , at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney on November 12, 2021, after a lifelong battle with health issues. Born in Louisdale, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Boudreau) Marchand. Elaine was employed as a waitress at the Sea Shell Restaurant. She was employed in housekeeping with the Bedford Motel and the Bicentennial Motel and finished her career at the Fairview Villa. Once retired, she returned to Louisdale to be closer to her family. Elaine loved her new companion Gryff (dog) who followed her everywhere. Surviving is her husband Arthur Joseph Sullivan; sons, Arthur (Jacinta) Sullivan, Petit de Grat; Bradley (Marlene) Marchand, Fort Mac; sister, Judy (John) Farrow; brother, Steven (Barb) Marchand and her sister-in-law Doris (Vernon). Elaine was extremely proud of her 4 grandchildren Joshua (Myrna) et Nathan (Courtney) Marchand, Miguel & Mychaela Sullivan; 4 great-grandchildren Jaxon, Madison, Hudson, and Dylan; and nieces and nephews who she cherished like her own. She was predeceased by sisters Lucille (Steven) MacDonald, Beatrice (Emery) Burke, Lorraine (Donald) Burke; brothers Vernon, Gerald (Norma), and Benny. Funeral Mass to celebrate the Life of Elaine will be held on Monday, November 22 at 11 am at St. Louis Church, Louisdale. Burial to follow in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Elaine was an avid gardener who spent numerous hours tending to her plants. To honor Elaine’s memory we ask if possible to offer a plant or flower to someone special. Monetary donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat. In compliance with Nova Scotia's COVID-19 public health regulations, proof of double vaccination and a picture ID must be shown to attend the funeral.
