SAMSON, Joseph Wayne, Alderney Point It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Wayne Samson of Alderney Point that occurred at his home in Alderney Point on February 9, 2022 at the age of 66. Born November 19, 1955 in Arichat, he was the son of the late Melvin and Louise Theodora (Samson) Samson. Wayne was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Wayne took pride in all the things he did. He was very simple but a positive man who had a great outlook on life. He cherished his daughters and grandsons so much that everywhere he went; he beamed with pride, as he spoke about them and shared recent memories with all those he came across. Growing up, Waynes passions started with hunting and waterdogs. He then became a devoted gardener and was named pumpkin king of Isle Madame in 1988. His love for gardening grew with the community, as he shared many of his oversized vegetables and donated many pumpkins to his daughters’ school. He was always one with nature, loved being outdoors, fishing and walking the beach surrounded by the ocean. One of Waynes favorite things to attend was family gatherings. He never missed many and always looked forward to them while enjoying the delicious food being served. He loved having his family together, and watching the kids grow up including his nieces, nephews, Godchild, and their children. The love he had for his daughters and grandsons was like no other. He had this excitement in his voice as he spoke with them frequently. He spent as much time as he could with them when they came home to visit. He loved showing his grandsons his way of living on this beautiful island. We will forever miss his stories, his jolly sense of humor, and his sincere appreciation for the land and sea. Most of all, his smile and energy that would light up any room. Rest easy Daddio. Fly high with Mémé, Pépé, and Taunt Dana. Wayne is survived by daughters, Amie Marie (alex) Grant, April Dawn Samson partner (Alyssa Charbonneau), both of Ottawa; grandchildren, Phoenix Grant, Bronsyn Charbonneau, both of Ottawa; brother, Blair (Geraldine) Poirierville; sisters, Carmella (Colin Jr.) Samson, Kalsey Samson Goddaughter, Poirierville, Wanda Samson, Boston, Mass.
