Obituary of Alfred William Bernard Bowen

BOWEN, Alfred William, Arichat It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred William Bowen of Lochside, that occurred at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on February 13, 2022 at the age of 94. Born April 28, 1927 in Arichat, he was the son of the late William and Alexina (DeRoche), Bowen. Alfred lived a long and happy life. He had a phenomenal memory which allowed him to tell great stories of his life and the history of Isle Madame. He was a great story teller because of his memory for details. He had a passion for wild life and loved feeding the animals in his later years. The love of his life was Marjorie Britten and now they are reunited. He will be missed deeply by his family and those who knew him. God Bless He is survived by his sons, Donald (Audrey) Bowen, Eastern Passage, Joel Bowen, Lochside (fiancée Sarah Cozzi), Niagara, ON. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his partner, Marjorie Margaret Britten. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 20th in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat at 11am with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in the Acadiaville Columbarium in West Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (NS). Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
