It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ellery Joseph Levesque of Potlotek that occurred at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney on February 11, 2022, at the age of 54. Born June 23, 1967, in Houlton, Maine, USA, he was the son of the late Joseph William Peters and Margaret Nicholas-Marshall. Ellery known as “buckshot” was known for his basketball, karate, and Breakdancing skills. He loved making people laugh with his clowning sense of humour. He served as a band councilor for Potlotek from 2004-to 2006. Also was employed by Potlotek Band in many aspects. He is survived by his daughter Mariah Carey Levesque, and son, Buck Kyle Levesque; grandchildren, Alyssa and Miah Levesque, all of Potlotek; brothers, Raymond Levesque, Ontario, Steven (Sheri) Levesque, Potlotek; sisters, Lori Johnson (Roderick), Potlotek, Bernadette Peters, Afton; Godmother, Lillian E. Marshall; Godchildren, Matthew Johnson, Casandra Isaac, Amber Marshall. several stepbrothers and sisters; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Ellery was predeceased his brother, Daryl Sylliboy; sisters, Maureen Levesque, Belinda Bernard Yvonne Francis Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in the Blessed Kateri Tekawitha Chapel in Potlotek from Saturday afternoon February 19, 2022, at 4 pm until Monday, February 21, 2022, at 10:45 from where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. A salite will be held at the Potlotek Community Hall following the service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery, Barra Head. In compliance with Nova Scotia's COVID-19 public health regulations, proof of double vaccination and a picture ID must be shown to attend the visitation and funeral and the Salite.
