Boudreau, Adolphe Placide
Age 76 of Arichat, Nova Scotia. We are sad to announce the passing of our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Adolphe Placide Boudreau on April 22nd after a short battle with cancer. Adolphe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Brenda (Dorey); children Gary, Shawn (Lisa), Kenny (Brandie), Tammy (Corey); grandchildren, Kacie (Brandon), Noel, Karie, Joshua, Elyse, Lauren, Emily, Meghan, Sophie, Landon; great-grandchildren, Kate, Brant and Blakely. Survived by his siblings; Louis Boudreau, Claire (Vincent) Landry, Mary Kehoe, Zita Perry, Robert Boudreau, John (Addean) Boudreau, Theresa (Merrill) Boudreau, Debbie (Blair) Martell, Claudette (Terry) Doucet.
Adolphe was predeceased by his parents Cyril and Idella Boudreau; siblings, Adam and Kenny; In-laws Eric Kehoe, Leo Perry, Pauline Boudreau, Yvonne Boudreau; Nephews Kenny Boudreau, Travis Boudreau; Niece Donna Marchand. Adolphe left home in 1965 at the age of 18 to work as a deckhand on the lake boats in Ontario. In 1970 he found his calling and studied carpentry at the vocational school in Halifax, a trade which he continued passionately for the rest of his life. He built many homes and some commercial buildings in the community, as well as two large fishing boats with his sons. Adolphe’s expertise was always in high demand and many woodworking projects could be seen in his workshop at any time. He often volunteered his time and talents to anyone who needed his help or advice. Adolphe had been a former member of Seafarers’ International Union of Canada; Carpenters Union Cape Breton Local 1588; Board member of St. Joseph’s Credit Union; Board member of Isle Madame Boat Club; and a Senior member of the Isle Madame New Horizons Seniors Citizens Club.
Visitation will be held in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat on Friday, May 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 6th. There will be a celebration of life reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150, Arichat following the service. Internment at the Acadianville Columbarium in West Arichat will follow at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anne Community and nursing care centre, Strait Richmond palliative care, or a charity of your choice.
