Obituary of Joseph Murdock MacNeil

MACNEIL, Joseph Murdock, Louisdale It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Murdock MacNeil of Louisdale which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on May 20, 2023. Born September 27, 1936, in Point Tupper, he was the son of the late Charles Vincent “Benny” and Delina (LeBlanc) MacNeil. Murdock grew up in Point Tupper and worked for many years at the Co-op Hardware Store in Port Hawkesbury, then at the Causeway Toll Booth. In 2005, he married the Love of his life, Norma Burke (Landry). He is survived by his wife Norma, Louisdale; step-son Dominic Boudreau (Leyla) and their daughter Alicia, Halifax; brother Rod MacNeil (Irene), Port Hawkesbury; sisters, Rose Kennedy, Stellarton, Sherry Malcolm (Gerry), New Minas, Carmelita MacIsaac, Port Hawkesbury, Pam Baumharterner (Hans), Port Hawkesbury, and Charmaine Baltas, (Terry), Lower River; he was also survived by many nieces and nephews, who he loved so much. Besides his parents, Murdock was predeceased by brothers Charles, Murray, and Foster; sister Heather; and nephews Henry Snow, and Brad Tait; brothers-in-law Gerry Kennedy, and Angus MacIsaac. Cremation has taken place No visitation per request. A committal for Murdock will be held at the Acadiaville Columbarium in West Arichat at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H.
