MACRAE, William Gordon “Dilly”, St Peter’s/Louisdale

It is with sadness that we announce the death of William Gordon “Dilly” MacRae of St. Peter’s, formerly of Louisdale, who passed away at his residence at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s on September 12th, 2023. Born in Louisdale on March 6, 1937, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Maude (Samson) MacRae.

Dilly is survived by his companion and best friend for the past 43 years, Ruth Matthew’s, Louisdale; daughters Lisa Martell (Carl), and Fonda Wyre, both of Louisdale; son Blair MacRae, River Bourgeois; grandchildren Bryson, Logan, Justine, Tamara, Jerrette, and Jordan; great grandchildren Aspe, and Everett; sister Emelie Hickey (Evan), Riverview, NB. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Alvin; stepson Isaac Matthew’s; sisters Theresa Boudreau (Harry), Dorothy Samson (Vincent). Ethel MacRae, Rose Patriquin (Harry), and Suzanne in infancy.

Ruth and family wish to thank all the special angels at the Richmond Villa for taking such great care of Dilly for these past few years.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisdale, on Friday, October 6th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass to celebrate the life of Dilly will be held on Saturday , October 7th at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Church, Louisdale with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will take place in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Reception will be held at St. Louis Parish Hall in Louisdale following the burial.

Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
