Obituary of Marie Anna Babin

BABIN, Marie Anna, 89 - St. Peter’s / West Arichat It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Anna Babin, 89 years old of St. Peter’s formerly of West Arichat that occurred at her residence at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s on October 18, 2023. Born June 3, 1934, in Pondville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Fougere) Bona. Marie is survived by her daughters Clara Landry (Stephen), and Leeanne Babin, both of Hammonds Plains, and Claudette Babin, D’Escousse; sons Mark Babin (Joanne), Poirierville, and Leonard Babin, Halifax; grandchildren Jeremy Landry (Nikki), Jenna Morrisson (Stephen), Jason Landry (Haley), Brady Doucette, Charity Doucette, Angela McInnis, and Renée Babin; great-grandchildren Myles Landry, Deacon Landry, and Brynn Morrison. Marie is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Etienne; and sons James, and Jule. There will be no visitation per request. A celebration of life will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Saturday, October 28th at 11 a.m. with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Committal to be held in the Acadiaville Columbarium in West Arichat. Memorial donations can be made to the Diabetic Association (NS). A reception will be held in the Acadiaville Hall in West Arichat, following the committal. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
