Condolences
Please accept my deepest sympaty on the loss of your dear mother. May the wonderful memories you have made carry you through the difficult days ahead.
To Bernice and all your family I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom, my heart hurts so much for all of you at this so very sad time......hugs
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of this amazing women. I recall her kindness and great spirit every time I visited her home. I was still in university and went to visit Blaine and Cecile and the many Cape Breton friends I had made while I was at school in Halifax. She welcomed me in her home as if I was family. I will never forget how generous her spirit was as she stated that I could come visit and stay anytime even if Blaine wasn't there. I was just only one of the many she comforted and reached out to. I fondly remember her cooking, which was fantastic. The Thanksgiving meals that started in the morning and went all day as a steady stream of people came to eat and share some time with this wonderful women. My condolences to the entire family and to all whose life was touched by her.
Dearest Family & Friends :
Sending heartfelt condolences over your mother’s passing. A beautifully written obituary, one that would make any mother so proud. You clearly have such amazing memories to cherish. Thinking of you all during this most difficult time.
So very sorry for your loss, Leola was a lovely, caring lady with a very kind heart . RIP Leola
My sincere condolences to you and your family upon the death of your beloved mother. I know your wonderful memories of her will help you through this difficult time.
I will always remember Matante Leola's smile.
I had lots of sleepovers at her house when I was young. Always so exciting with the big family over there and her delicious homemade bread, toasted with cheese whiz.
Whenever I visited her, she would always say, "C'est la petite Yvonne qui viens me faire une visite."
I will always cherish those memories.
My sincere condolences, prayers and love to the whole family.
She will be missed and remembered fondly.
Sending my deepest condolences to all of Aunt Leola’s family and friends. What a beautifully written obituary—such a wonderful tribute to an amazing lady who lived a very full, long, and purposeful life!
Aunt Leola was definitely the “Queen Bee” and center of her hive! A true “Matriarch” for sure, and the center hub of her big, wonderful family from which all the kindness, love, and generosity radiated! She has left a lasting legacy in all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and her positive influence will continue to echo for many, many, generations to come!
I have so many good memories of visits to Aunt Leola and Uncle Wilfred’s home in Arichat with my parents when I was quite young. Aunt Leola’s “love language” was, without a doubt, food! Memories of huge pots of seafood chowder on the stove with home-made bread or rolls, or a garden stew with fresh beans from the garden. Lots of thick slices of her home-made bread, toasted and slathered with butter and fresh cream and strawberry jam enjoyed with a steaming cup of tea! I remember well me and my cousins eating foxberry squares right out of the pan, still warm from the oven! Aunt Leola loved to feed everyone, there was always room, and enough in the pot, for one more!
I will always have special and very fond memories of Aunt Leola, my mother, Cecilia’s, only sister. I will miss her kindness, love, humour, and especially her big, heartfelt hugs! It’s somehow quite fitting that Aunt Leola passed the day before Valentine’s Day. I’m sure Uncle Wilfred was waiting for her with open arms, ready to dance a romantic waltz with the love of his life! They shared a great love and raised a wonderful family. Leola will be greatly missed by so many of us, but her warm, giving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and souls of her children and their families! Fly High with the Angels, dear Aunt Leola, and Rest in Peace!
Lots of love and big hugs to all of you. Debbie :0) xoxoxo
I always looked forward to visiting Leola at her cabane, and of course the inevitable games of skip-bo with Dad and whoever else might be dropping in at the moment. She was a lovely lady with a great sense of humour and she'll be sorely missed.

To the entire Samson family,
Our deepest sympathies to the many wonderful children and grandchildren Leola and Wilfred left behind as their legacy. My wife and sister spent many a days and nights gathered at the family household in Arichat. Leola always had home made bread after those teenage dances and what was hers was yours. Such a welcoming community matriarch to so many. She will be dearly missed !

We wish to offer our sincerest condolences to Leola’s children, grandchildren, friends and family. Although I did not know Leola well, I have heard so many people say what a kind and funny woman she was. Having wonderful and kind children is a testament of her values and sense of family. You all have some of her in you and that is what she wants you to share with others. May her legacy continue to be your acts and words of kindness and compassion. Repose en paix Leola. Your Father/Grandfather, whose eyes lit up every time he saw her entering a room, must have had a special glint and tear in his eye when he welcomed her to heaven. May God Bless you all. ❤️ to everyone. Some of my best summer vacation memories as a child were going to visit at Leola with Mom… spending the whole morning there at the table with your mom, your grandmother and my Mom… talking, having tea, exploring the huge house, watching tv with your dad and strolling the shoreline before I visited the Forge. Mom cherished her friendship with Leola and I am sure they are happy to be reunited❤️
Sending sincere condolences to You Cecile and ALL your family. Your Mother sounds like a beautiful soul and her obituary is a lovely memory of her life.
