DOUCETTE, Yvon Peter Reid, 26 of Chapel Island It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Yvon Peter Reid Doucette of Chapel Island who passed away on March 8th, 2024. Born in Sydney on May 16, 1997, he was the son of Noelle Doucette and Glenn Googoo. Peter had a deep love for music since he was introduced to it at a young age. When he was just a toddler his Mummum bought him his first guitar and took him down to Uncle Danny for his first lesson. Peter had a gift and was able to pick up any instrument and play it. As a child Peter spent his early years with his sisters Annie and Lily, and his first cousin, Aurora, who was just like a sister to him. As Peter grew older and attended school, he developed many close friendships with his kindness always at the forefront. As Peter grew older and got his license, he spent an endless amount of time cruising with friends and cousins searching the back roads for fishing spots listening to Mac Miller, Foo Fighters, and Linkin Park. His favorite song was Everlong. Peter developed his musical styles as a child with a big crush on Shania Twain. He also loved Taylor Swift as a country singer and of course Johnny Cash. Peter loved tinkering with cars, building electronics, gadgets, computers, and everything in between. He got his love of fishing and cars from his dad. Peter loved children and especially loved his godchildren. The love that emanated from him was obvious. He got his ability to love deeply from his mother and his Mummum. Peter was lucky to be loved, not only by his cousins and friends, but also his aunts and uncles. His aunts and uncles acted as mothers and fathers to Peter his whole life. Peter will be missed by his parents Noelle Doucette and Glenn Googoo; brothers Avery, Seth, 2 brothers from Sydney; sisters Annie, Lily; paternal grandparents Mary Ellen and Francis Googoo; Godparents Darren and Levinia Googoo; nieces Lena, Jean and Keira Doucette (Goddaughter); nephew Atlas Doucette (Godson) and Godson Alexander Augustine-Simon. Kindred spirits are often rare, but Peter connected just as deeply with all his friends. He will be especially missed by John Basque, Tyler Francis, Anoogwa Pictou, Mark Doucette, Sonny Doucette, JohnSam Googoo, Caleb Levesque, Brayden Larade, Isaiah Bernard, Alicia Marshall, Chelsea Marshall, and Elizabeth Johnson He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Chief Noel and Jean Doucette. As well as his childhood best friend Allan Lafford and friend Robert George. Visitation will take place at his Mumum’s house at 12223 Highway 4, Chapel Island on Saturday, March 16th from 3pm until March 18th at 1pm. A celebration of life will take place on March 18th at St. Peter’s Church, St. Peter’s at 2pm. A salite to follow at the Potlotek community hall. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C. H.
