MCPHEE, Stanley Terrance, 93 of River Bourgeois

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Terrance McPhee (loving husband, father and “Papa”) of River Bourgeois who passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2024 at the Richmond Villa. A lifelong resident of River Bourgeois, he was the only child of the late Whitney and Nellie (Burke) McPhee. 

Stanley graduated from St. Francis Xavier University and had a long career as a teacher. He was patient and kind and a favorite teacher to many of his former students. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards and working on puzzles. He never passed up an opportunity to pet a cat or dog and found joy fishing in the outdoors. He loved his grandchildren and was known for his “Papa hugs”. Sports were a big part of his life. When his children were young, he was often seen transporting carloads of children to their sporting activities and he was a big Montreal Canadians fan. 

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Monica Mary (Bourque) McPhee; children Fraser (Giselle), Lower Sackville, Mike (Jane Ann), St. Margaret’s Bay, Donnie (Maritesse), Moncton, Germaine (Jim) Richard, Lower River, , Gerard (Juanita), Sydney, Veronica (Ray) Landry, Hammonds Plains; grandchildren Justin, Ainsley, Adam, Alyson, Christine, Courtney, Pamela, Dante, Lilliana; and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the River Bourgeois Funeral Parlour in River Bourgeois on Tuesday, April 16th from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, April 17th at St. John the Baptist Church in River Bourgeois at 11am, with Rev. John Yake officiating. Burial to follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, River Bourgeois. A reception to follow at the Tara Lynne Community Centre, River Bourgeois.

Memorial donations can be made to St. John the Baptist Cemetery Fund. The family would like to thank the staff at the Richmond Villa, St Peter’s for their compassionate care during his stay.
